Christine O'Brien RYT, Certified Kids Yoga Teacher, Special Needs Yoga
Christine took her first hot yoga class in 1999. What began as an effort to get into shape, grew into a journey of self discovery through exploring the physical and non-physical benefits of the practice.
She is a 200-hour graduate of Beryl Bender Birch’s The Hard & the Soft Yoga Institute, studying classical Ashtanga Yoga at Mindful Turtle. She is also certified in Children’s Yoga and completed an intensive Special Needs Training with Danielle Rae to expand her ability to teach her students the tools they need to self-regulate through mindfulness, breath work, meditation and yoga. Christine strives to build confidence in each of her students and uses positive affirmations in her classes, guiding her students to live in the present moment and start each day with a grateful heart.
She is a Certified Reiki Master who is passionate about helping others awaken and empower the light within them. She believes we all have the power to heal from the inside out.
Lorraine Hayden Bennardo Ma,Sp.Ed., RYT, Kids Yoga, Special Needs Yoga, & Reiki Master
For many years as an Educator & Professional Developer, Lorraine worked in public schools and private non-profit agencies serving children, and adults of all needs. All the while, Lorraine had had her own personal practice of Yoga. A regular Yoga practice brought healing benefits to her own physical, mental, and spiritual health. Lorraine's commitment to Yoga practice soon became a commitment to Yoga teaching. Following her heart, and her passion for teaching, as well as for Yoga, Lorraine completed 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Soon after she was able to bring her knowledge as a special educator into her work as a special needs yoga teacher. Her study of Special Needs Yoga with Danielle Rae, brought her expertise, and experience to fruition. Lorraine is now teaching special needs Yoga in private schools, and at the studio of "Yoga with Danielle Rae." She is eager to share her passion for Yoga practice with all.
Carlee Babb BA & MA Special Education, RYT, Kids Yoga & Special Needs Yoga
Carlee has been teaching special education in the public school system for over 11 years from grades first through fifth grade. She teaches in inclusive and self-contained settings which further developed her love for working with students with special needs. The relationships she has developed with her students have lasted well beyond the annual school year. Carlee achieved a dual bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education from Saint Joseph’s College. She went on to fulfill her master’s degree in Literacy Education from CW Post. Carlee decided to further her skill in assisting children by bringing her passion for yoga into her classroom. She incorporates mindfulness techniques and yoga into her daily routines and curriculum. Carlee is certified as a 200 hour RYT and has attended several workshops and trainings to deepen her yogi skills. She completed an intensive special needs training with Danielle Rae to further her ability to bring mindfulness, yoga, and meditation to children and adults with disabilities. This is a true passion of Carlee’s that she hopes to spread throughout her entire career.
