Special Needs Yoga training

Training is designed for special needs providers, caregivers, parents, teachers, yoga teachers and children’s yoga teachers.

Danielle has been teaching yoga to children and adults of all abilities including ADHD, Autism, Non-Verbal, Behavioral and Down Syndrome, in school, special programming and privately since 2010. She has incorporated her experience and knowledge of yoga and special needs to create a training that teaches providers to bring yoga into the lives of their students in effective ways and enables students to use yoga as a self regulating strategy.

This 20 hour intensive yoga training will cover teaching yoga to special needs students of all ages and abilities. A full understanding of the benefits of breathing, mindfulness, affirmations and yoga poses will enable you to incorporate yoga into the students life or facilitate a group or private class. You will learn to coach students how to use yoga techniques and tools as strategies in everyday life. Skills will enable students to self regulate, soothe, learn more efficiently, increase physical strength and flexibility, focus and be more balanced physically, mentally and emotionally. Typical students will also benefit from the skills learned.

If you are not a certified yoga instructor, one year of yoga practice is highly recommend for this class. If you are planning to be a special needs yoga instructor and are not a trained certified yoga teacher it is highly recommended you take a 200 hour training. You are not required to be a certified yoga instructor for this training because it is intended to serve all people working with special needs individuals.
